It looks good, maybe just that the animated GIF, the dove, is a little pixelated, rough around the edges...

Sounds like what the weather people use on the TV news, call the TV station and ask engineering where they get those.

Go here: http://www.network-tools.com, select the 'EXPRESS' box and type in the domain name and hit the button or on Windows hit START >> RUN >> CMD and then type 'ping yourdoimainname.com' and you will see the numeric IP in the window.

My sympathies to you.

Maybe try and see if England can get into the site using the IP address instead of the site name.

Hope you make your deadline.

Thanks,
Wade

CWH deleted my online presence thinking I had not paid. Today (12/3/08) they acknowledged their mistake. Here's my problem...I'm working on a deadline project...uploaded a video for a client in England to view. They couldn't get to my site. Deadline is Friday (12/5/08). I was told it could take 24 hours to get my site up and going. While I can log on to my site, England could not. What gives? Why should this take so long?

I need a remote with at least 100 ft. range. No mouse or extra buttons, only forward, back and laser pointer...the guys that will use this remote will accidentally push every button on the remote causing numerous headaches. I'm currently using a Honeywell with 100 ft range, but it is unreliable. Any suggestions?

I have really valued and appreciated Lance's, Pam's and their team's service until this switch to jumpline. They have always gone OVERBOARD for us -- whatever it took. I've been a faithful customer with multiple websites and other customers I have referred since 1999.

It seems we now have about 60% of the help, less than 50% of the knowledge and a screwy interface (tho I'm starting to get used to some of it) than we used to get with CWH. The UI needs some major improvement. Emails to Lance and "urgent" have bounced ever since the switch.

I feel that Lance should have at least notified us well ahead of time and kept us updated as to the switch to jumpline. The sale of Alabanza (the original NOS) was beyond their control. The devastating move to Navisite (down 3 days for us) was also pretty much beyond their control, but at least they kept us updated.

This last switch to jumpline (all the info about them I had to find out thru research as things deteriorated), was a terrible surprise, and I don't understand why they did this without any notification or warning of what was happening. The Odneals have always been really upfront and honest with us. That it happened like this is hard to understand. It looks like the problems after the sale of Alabanza and perhaps economic issues were just way too overwhelming for the Odneals and their team, and they had to get out. But I feel like we were left hanging, the way it was done.

There needs to be a public announcement explaining everything on a CWH page somewhere, and updates made to out-of-date or incorrect info on the site, including "About Us".

In the mean time, besides the problems with tech support (tho they are nice folks, and I do think they are trying to the extent that they are able -- just not as dedicated or nearly as knowledgeable as the original folks or Lance and Pam), my sites have been going down frequently AND THERE IS NO 24/7 SUPPORT even tho it is still advertised and they claim that there is. I can't get any help after 9 PM CST and the emergency addresss (urgent@christianwebhost.com) had been dropped. There is NOTHING until 8 or 9 the next morning, and that's when they get started on the problem.

One of my critical business sites (www.kroytechbench.com) has been down for well over 2 hours, and as usual, there is NO TECHNICAL SUPPORT. They are GONE for the night, as with EVERY night.

This is not right. True, It could have been much worse. They could have just shut the whole thing down or sold it to a worse outfit. So I will still thank God for what I have (will probably get my site back tomorrow and trust the lost sales aren't great or none at all).

I definitely need to move myself and some some customers elsewhere. I have been checking out aplus.net, pair.com and some others. Some are very professional, but cost a bit more. Pair has been around since almost the beginning of the Net and has a long track record. Worth it at this point. Alternatively, I could get a cheap or free host and mirror my critical sites. I originally went with CWH because I could tell that they were real Christians and held to biblical values in doing business, research indicated that they were a really dedicated, well-run host, and doing business with Christians who lived it was really a plus. I really valued this for hosting and felt I was contributing something to fellow believers. I haven't seen any others who compared in this regard.

I hope for some official information and updates on the CWH site soon. Who does the new site now? Who really is/makes up CWH? Jumpline is apparently the real company we're dealing with. I saw something in one of Lance's replies about an "initial email". I didn't get this (or missed it). Maybe it could be posted here with additional up-to-date info on what's happening.

On CWH: "Customer Port Uptime: 99.995%"? "...the number #1 reason is our customer support!"? "We offer 24/7/365 technical support..."? How do I get this (after numerous fruitless complaints to Jumpline)? Right now this information is false. Navisite in Andover? They switched to Jumpline in Columbus, right? DataCenter101? CWH?==> Jumpline==> Navisite==> DataCenter101? If it all works and support is good and 24/7, fine with me. I will miss the past Christian and personal aspect of the service. I would like a solid description of the whole thing, at least to have an accurate and correct picture of the setup for myself and the sake of my customers.

Lance, I noted in your replies that the focus appears to be on providing good service and support for new customers. I hope your committment to restoring good service and support for long-time customers will be at least as much. Or if not possible on your part, that some provision will be made by the new people/ company to straighten out the problems some of us are still having.

(My downed site is still down, no support tonight.) Lance, could you please get Jumpline to provide the 24/7 support? Please, as there is nowhere to go when critical support is needed after 9 pm. Can you make yourself available again by email, at least for urgent matters?

2:30 am EST: I stand corrected. The site has come back up just now. Perhaps 24/7 is coming back?

God bless you, and hope all works out for you and everyone!

Kroy

PCI compliance is now required (or pending) where financial transactions using credit cards for conference registrations, offerings or purchases by BofA, First Data, Linkpoint and other financial portals. Is anyone else getting pressure for security compliance or they will be required to pay additional monthly fees?

Thanks for the reply Eddie.
This is news to me about the Odeneals starting a private school. I hope that it works out good. That's a huge venture.
I have purchased a VDS account with CWH for the business account that I have had with CWH for a number of years. I just got it today, so I haven't done anything with it yet.
I just wish Lance would have been more open and communicative about the move with CWH, but I believe the move to Jumpline will be good for all of us in the end.
I do like doing business with other Christians when possible and practical, so I am staying with CWH.
Thanks,
Wade

Hi Wade,

I would consider what you support as a CWH customer. When I learned that the Odeneals started a private school and this was the main purpose of transferring to jumpline, to give them more time for the children, I feel very good about supporting them as a customer.

Things seem to have settled down at CWH a good bit, but I'm still kind of looking at alternatives because one of my sites is not accessible a lot of times. It will only be down for a few minutes and then back up, but this goes on quite a bit.

Just the other day I noticed that CWH has a new look and is selling new plans, so I looked at Jumpline - and they are now identical. Just about every page and article on Jumpline is also on CWH. They did a search and replace in all pages and replaced 'Jumpline' with 'CWH'.
Anyway, I'm now seriously looking into upgrading to the "Standard IP VDS" plan that is offered by Jumpline and CWH. I'll probably stay with CWH, since it seems to really be a Jumpline account, with billing going through CWH.

Has anyone ever used a 'Virtual Dedicated Server' account before? I have not, but it looks to be really good, and not that much more expensive than a shared account.

Also does anyone know if there is any advantage in transferring my account direct with Jumpline, or will the service and performance be the same if I stay with CWH?

Any feedback is much appreciated?

Thanks,
Wade
