Updating your Nameservers

The first step in getting started is to make sure that your domain name is pointed to the Christian Web Host nameservers. If you purchased your domain from Christian Web Host, you can skip this step; if your domain is currently registered and pointed to a previous web host, you will need to update your nameservers to reflect the following information with your domain registration provider:

Christian Web Host’s Nameservers are:

Primary Nameserver

ns1.myhostcenter.com
64.6.240.120

Secondary Nameserver

ns2.myhostcenter.com
64.6.240.130

Note: It can take up to 48 hours before updates to your domain name will take effect, during this time you may not be able to access your website via your domain name.

Accessing your Control Panel

To get started with your new Christian Web Host web hosting account, you should login to and explore the Control Panel. To login, first go to your Customer Manager, located at https://my.christianwebhost.com and click on the ‘My Products’ section. Now that you’re viewing the Products overview, you can directly access your Control Panel by clicking the link next to the plan you are working with.
Once you’ve logged in to your control panel, you can get started by adding your first email account.

Creating an Email Account

To add an email account, click on ‘Mail’ icon from the main page of the Control Panel, then click on the left side of the Control Panel, then click ‘Add/Remove/Manage Accounts’. From the Mail Maintenance page, click on ‘Add Account’ at the bottom of the screen. Enter the email address that you would like to create, and select a password for the email user. You can also set a maximum mailbox size, or quota, for the user to prevent unwanted disk usage from email users. Once you have entered the required information, click Create. Your account is now ready to receive mail and can be configured in your email software. When setting up your email software, use the following information, along with the username and password you have just added:

Incoming mail server type: POP3
Incoming mail server name: mail.EXAMPLE.COM (enter your domain name here)
Username or Account Name: (where username is the name that you just created, and using your domain name)
Outgoing mail server type: SMTP
Outgoing mail server name: mail.EXAMPLE.COM (enter your domain name here)

FTP Login Information

To begin publishing your website content to your new account, enter the following information into your FTP client or publishing software:

FTP Server hostname: ftp.EXAMPLE.COM (enter your domain name here)
IP Address:  enter your IP address
FTP Username: enter your username
FTP Password: enter your password
FTP Root directory: httpdocs/
You can use the IP address of your account instead of the hostname if your domain is not yet pointed to our nameservers.
