Domain Name Package

Logging in to Site Builder to create your website

You can build a website using your domain name with the Christian Web Host Site Builder. To get started, just login at https://my.christianwebhost.com and click on My Products at the top of the screen, then click “view details” to access the domain name you are working with.

To activate Site Builder, you will first need to Enable Domain Name Package. Once enabled, you will find additional links to begin working with you new Site Builder account.
Upon logging into Site Builder, you will be prompted to complete a simple four-step wizard to begin building your site. Simply select the site design and colors that you want, and fill in the required details about your site. After completing the introductory wizard, you can use the Pages section of Site Builder to begin editing and adding pages, then click the Publish tab to save your changes for your web visitors to see.

Creating email users

Each Christian Web Host Domain Name Registration allows you to create email addresses that are personalized with your domain name. When creating an email address, you can create either a POP email account, or set up an email forwarder. A POP email account is a real mailbox that can be accessed with the Christian Web Host Webmail program, or with a desktop email client such as Outlook. An email forwarder is an address that forwards mail to another off-site email address, such as an existing email address that you already use. You can add both from the Customer Manager at https://my.christianwebhost.com; simply click on My Products at the top of the screen, then click “view details” to access the domain name you are working with.

Now, click “Create an Email Account” from the Email Management section. From the dialog that opens, select the type of address you would like to add. For email forwarders, you will be prompted to select the username for the new email address as well as the destination to forward to; when adding a POP email account, you will be prompted for the username as well as a password that you would like to use.

Once your new address is created, you can begin using it immediately; email sent to forwarding addresses will be automatically delivered to the address that you have specified. POP email accounts are most easily accessed via the provided Webmail interface.

Accessing email with your browser using Webmail

Christian Web Host provides an easy to use web based email client, Webmail, for use with all POP email accounts that you create for your domain registration. You can access Webmail through your web browser by going to http://webmail.yoursitedomain.com.

The first time that you login to Webmail with the email username and password that you selected, you will be prompted to set some general preferences, such as your timezone and the name that should appear on messages you send out. Once your preferences are saved, your inbox of new email will be displayed. You can use the folder list on the left side of Webmail to manage your emails and move them between folders, or use the menu bar at the top to access other functions, such as composing a new message or adding events to a simple web based calendar.

Forwarding your website to another location

Each Christian Web Host Domain Name Registration includes the ability to set up domain forwarding, allowing you to redirect your website traffic to another website. For example, if you have set up a free personal website elsewhere and would like for your domain name to redirect to it, you can configure domain name forwarding to point your domain to that off-site address; or, if you do not have a website, you can use domain name forwarding to display an ‘under construction’ page to visitors of your site.

To enable domain forwarding, first login to the Customer Manager at https://my.christianwebhost.com and click on My Products at the top of the screen, then click “view details” to access the domain name you are working with. Click on the ‘Domain Forwarding’ icon under the DNS Management section, then select the type of forwarding that you wish to enable. If you have an existing off-site URL, you can select the first option and enter your URL; if you do not have a website, you can select ‘Domain for Sale’ or ‘Domain Under Construction’. Once you have saved your changes, visitors to your site will automatically be redirected to the destination of your choice. You can always disable this in the future by returning to the ‘Domain Forwarding’ panel and selecting ‘Display Nothing’.
